How much time had I been out of home? I really don´t know... maybe I´m overreacting, but it really seems like two months...
In fact, I´m still at Madrid, and this week I have a lot of things to do and I´ll have not time to be at home... The thing is that these had been ¿10? busy days and I really didn´t have so much time to write, so, after the conversation I had with a player in Las Palmas who was angry with me because I don´t write enough posts, i have to do my homework...
I´ll talk about the SPT and the tourney later, but now that I have a moment I should talk about Vegas too... You know, I went to play the Ladies Event, I was busted out in the first hour, so I really have no much to talk about...
We started with 2000 chips and a strucuture with a first level of 25/50, without intermediate levels like 75/150 and with the antes coming in level 4th. So, altought there was one hour per level it was a really turbo tournament... How did I go out? Quite simple:
Level 2: blinds 50/100 I´m in early position and I have QQ and about 2500 chips. The girl at my right raises 300, I reraised 900 hundred, everybody folds, she calls. The flop comes J83. There´s a pot of 1850 chips, I have 1600 chips behinds, she has 900. She checks, I bet all-in. She calls, she has AA. Easy.
I have 700 chips left, as soon as I can I move all-in, a shortstack call me, she wins (I don´t remember the hand exactly), I´m even more shortstack then, and I move with AJ to get call by an AK. So, that´s pretty much all my tourney.
Now I can talk about other staff of my travel: The most important thing to review is that I played cash. (this is a weird sentence for a poker player...) Cheap tournaments in Vegas are very turbo, so despite I never play cash, I prefered 1/2 NL tables better than those crazy tourneys. And it seems like my little and almost inexistent cash experience is enough against Las vegas tourists, I feel good at tables. Besides, I won. Little, but I won, and that´s something!
What else? Swimming pool at Luxor (I really can´t understand why every girl is wearing the "trikini" swimming costume..., that is only for models, girls!!! It doesn´t fits good!!!), welcome party to the Everest Poker qualifyers (where I could heard a very funny story of "what happens in Vegas stay in Vegas"), ladies tourney, shopping, shopping, more shopping, lot of sleeping because of the jetlag, cashgames, and flight back.
Transoceanic flights are a divine punishment. God didn´t said that kistchy thing of "you´ll eat your food by the sweat of your brow" no, no... when he punished the two dumbs after they took the apple, what he really said was: "you´ll travel on small aeroplanes, stuck for hours at a very unconfortable seat, standind the stinky smell of the guy next to you, eating plastic food, sweating blood, and suffering long lines and waiting hours at airports, and when you finally reach your destiny, you´ll have to deal with jet-lag". So, that´s exactly how it was our flight.
Laura and I arrived to Madrid like, as Mariken said, two living corpses, and there we get the third plane in 24 hours to Las Palmas. As soon as we arrived, one shower and a nice meal gave us some of the energy we lost during the flights, then I went straight to a radio interview I had. I thought I would go to bed after that, but Jet-Lag made me feel not sleepyness, so I stayed awake for all the night. I´ve met very nice people and find out there are players here that I haven´t seen in two years or something. I play Sit&Go´s, laugh a lot, and finally go to sleep. Then, the next day, the tourney started, but that´s a different post.
