I was at the BPPT Estoril this weekend, in Estoril, Portugal, at the European´s largest Casino. Tourney was great, with a very high participation and great organization. I have no much to say about my tourney because I was knocked out on level 5. We were almost 20 spanish players, but a lot of us lost on day 1. Congratulations to Pike, who made the back to back winning the side event after won the SPT valencia last month.
Best of the weekend was the fun I had. I was kind of dissappeared all the weekend making my appereance too late in the casino, Friday I went to the Hotel, but Julio told me about the fun he had friday night, so with that information and the SWEEEET mojitos they served at the casino, saturday was my night. And it was so fun with all the spanish crew. Lot of laughts and fun.
About my tourney there´s no much to talk about. Grischuk (it was a pleasure to re-meet him, we were introduced in Vegas, but my brain decided not to save that information... at least this time Grischuk made sure I´ll remember here with the hands we play...) left me with half of my initial stack on the first half hour of the tourney ehen he thought my reraise from the bigblind to his raise on the buttom was a re-steal attempt. He decided to reraise me again and I decided to play my AJ because I thought the little thieft was stealing me... ;) and he was. But the thing is I played very bad the hand, so weak, and he made his straight con 108 offsuited against my top pair of jacks made on the river. He left me with 7500 chips and I managed to get my 15000 back to the end of level 2. And hen I was with 20.000 i lost my mind and gave away about 10.000 with a bluff in the wrong moment, in the wrong board to the wrong player. I wasn´t able to get my stack back again, and lost the tourney after calling an allin on the turn with a flush draw and an open-ended straigt draw.
Bytheway, the thing is I spent a great time, tourney was great to break the august monotony, and I´ve met great players. It was so fun and I loved party with the spanish crew.
One more thing, Portuguese players get better so fast and we, spanish players, are getting behind!. These tourneys in Portugal make the "fight" more interesting... Portuguese people are great and so nice, but he have to beat them, people!! ;)
Speaking on which, the satelite to the Vilamoura SPT has just started...
