I arrived yesterdey from Sardina, completely exhausted after a non-stop weekend. I barely slept in four days and I had some work with interviews, classes, activities, etc. (ok, the super party on friday can´t be considered work, but I´m the Drama Queen, you know ;-))
I really loved it! The people, the island (so nice!!) and above all the
atmosphere. It is an amazing tournament. Everest Poker does the EPEC
for the people who´s starting in poker, they were all newbies, people
form different countries, different ages (mostly very young, but there
were a lot of people with 40, 50, even 60 who just discovered poker).
They all came so expectant and for most of them this is their first
live tourney or, at least, the first one with that big prizes. They
came accompanied by their families or friends or boyfriends/girlfiends,
for a holiday weekend at the beach with a little poker on the
afternoon. That makes people be relaxed but excited and nervous becouse
of the tourney at the same time. The atmosphere is really great and so
priceless. I loved being at this kind of events surrounded by this
good vibe.
You have all the info about the tourney in the Everest Poker Blog. We started on friday with a party at the beach, a dinner and an after
party at the disco. I have to say my night ended so late :P On saturday
started the tournament, I was all day doing interviews and following
the spanish players. There was a good weather and I also went to the
beach for a couple of hours. During all the weekend, there were some
sports activities for the players (soccer, basket, voleiball...) at
morning. Everest Poker´s staff was unbeliveable, they made a really
hard work during all weekend to make those days unforgatable for all
us... I´m so grateful for their amazing work, and feeling really proud.
On Sunday, they arranged a super fun activity on the pool. The players from the Team Everest (Voitto, Steven, Cristiano and me -Kim had to catch her plane to Japan in the morning so she missed it! pity!-) had to play simultaneous Heads Up matches, live, and outside, at the pool. This was the deal: We had to play six matches, at the same time, and If we lose three of them we had to go and bathe on the pool! LOL it was SO FUN. I was expecting to lose quite soon, but I started to win match after match (OMG, I had an incredible luck in some of them, I wish I was that lucky on an EPT or WSOP :P) but it seemed likethey all wanted me on the pool, so every time I beat anyone, another player quickly arrived. I played like 18 or 20 matches and finally I lost three so I get my swim! (true is that after running table to table and celebrating and everything I was kind of looking forward for the refreshing bathe)
Three tables, two players and a dealer in each one, and we on the middle fighting them all!
For this weekend I went with a friend of mine instead my boyfriend who usually cames with me to all my tourneys and events. And good thing he didn´t came, because while I was having fun at Sardinia with my friend Raquel he was winning a tournament in Madrid! So, it seems like he would have to stay alone more times! :P
I met great people, all the
spanish crew, the portugueses, the spanish and italian journalist and a
bunch of very nice belgium guys that I met the last night... they all made my
weekend amazing, thank you very much to all of you, hope to see you
soon!!
